Wii Channel Wad Downloads: Everything You Need to Know About WAD Files and Wii Channels

Channels marked "Discontinued" have stopped working and are no longer useful in any meaningful capacity. Some of these channels provided limited-time content for upcoming games, TV specials, or similar offerings. Many others, such as Weather, News, and the Check Mii Out and Everybody Votes channels were discontinued June 27, 2013 as part of a phase-out of WiiConnect24.

I've taken a look at why Minna no Nintendo Channel returns a 177404:On a Japanese Wii, the data is loaded from On a US Wii, the data is loaded from Since this is the Japanese server, US/en does not exist, so the channel must be tricked somehow to load from /4/JP/ja/csdata.LZ

I modified the Minna no Nintendo Channel to go to the JP/ja/csdata.LZ, but it fails to get and This was done by changing the US to JP and the en to ja, but it looks like csdata.LZ may contain data from multiple regions, so it is still sending the incorrect US data which is causing error 262000. It looks like the values of the region being sent to the channel needs to be faked as coming from a Japanese system.

I'll be damned...you're banned from WiiSpeak. There is a universal unban code for ocarina floating around the net. You can try applying that ocarina code using Gecko OS 1.9 or newer (it has a channel launcher), but I've had limited success with ocarina on channels. There's also a file on your wii you can hack to change your identifier and unban the console, but I don't have the details on it ATM.

If you look you will see it is actually a channel, not the .wad itself. This is the channels page not homebrew and hasn't been updated in 4 months.Apart from that, there isn't much difference between v1.3 & 1,7 anyway, they both install .wad's

The Homebrew Channel is a self-updating homebrew application loader by Team Twiizers which allows users to load homebrew applications without having to run an exploit every time. Once installed, users can access the channel from the Wii System Menu just like any other Wii channel. It can launch or install homebrew applications from an SD or SDHC card or via TCP/USB Gecko using Wiiload. You can install the Homebrew Channel as part of the HackMii Installer by seeing the Installation part of this page.

In order to make icons for the Homebrew Channel show up, they must be in .png format with dimensions of 128x48 pixels. The full alpha channel can be used. Copy it into the folder of the application under the name "icon.png" (e.g. apps/scummvm/icon.png).

As of 1.0.7, The Homebrew Channel is capable of theming. The images and fonts are stored in a theme.zip, which can be executed like a boot.dol from the Homebrew Channel. To uninstall the theme, just go to system menu -> Data Management -> Save Data -> Wii. The homebrew channel should have its own save data, just delete it and that will remove the theme. 2ff7e9595c
